This is what I started doing. Crafting short narrative films, most of which I wrote, shot, directed, and edited. I’ve produced probably a dozen shorts (oh, right, and a feature), and I worked on easily twice that many which other people have made. I slowly drifted away from these sorts of projects. Mostly because of the lack of enthusiasm and focus I found in what passes for a local filmmaking community. Now, most of my narrative film work is merged with theatrical presentations as a sort of multimedia live cinema hybrid thingy. This is a rewarding way of working because the presentation for an audience is part of the entire project workflow. However, I still do the occasional self-contained narrative film. Here are a few of the more recent ones. The one based on Carmen Tafolla’s poem is only loosely a narrative (I’m placing it here because I shot and edited it in a very narrative film manner).
